Dr. Flora Poon
MBBS, BSc(Med), MRT, MHSc, FACD
Dr Flora Poon is a Consultant and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. She undertook her specialist Dermatology training in Victoria working at many leading tertiary hospitals. During training, Dr Poon was awarded a scholarship that enabled a year of specialist dermatology work in Oxford, UK, gaining further experience in sub-specialised medical and surgical dermatology working in multidisciplinary clinics managing cutaneous oncology, eczema, psoriasis, acne, hair pathology, immunobullous and vulval dermatology for adult and paediatric patients from different cultural backgrounds with different skin types and conditions.View full bio
Our Nurses and Dermal Clinician
Dermal Nurse – MNSc
Jasmina is in her final months of studying for a Bachelor qualified Dermal Clinician degree as a nurse with more than 6 years experience working within a beauty skin clinic. She has almost completed her studies at Dermal Science at Victoria University. Through undertaking the degree of Bachelor of Dermal Science she has obtained extensive knowledge of using laser modalities for the treatment of scars, skin rejuvenation, veins and pigmentation conditions. She is extremely committed in client education and client safety. She is experienced in providing skin and body treatments and educating on skin health and skin care.
Procedural Nurse – Dip. Nursing
Kirstin comes with years of experience in healthcare, having spent 11 years in dental and hospital settings. With a keen interest in dermatology, she completed her Diploma of Nursing and brings compassion and experience to her role at Hope Dermatology. Kirstin enjoys assisting with procedures, pre and post-op care and providing reassurance and support to patients.
Procedural Nurse – Dip. Nursing / Dermal and Laser Technician
Danielle is a dedicated and caring nurse with a bright, happy personality. She always makes patients feel at ease and has a special interest in working with patients with special needs. She loves the variety in her working week – supporting our patients at Hope Dermatology during procedures and cosmetic treatments, plus caring for her clients at Tina Marie Support Services.
Registered Nurse/ Cosmetics Nurse –BSc, RN
Our highly accomplished cosmetics and practice nurse Kristie has spent over 20 years honing her skills in the cosmetics industry. She has vast experience in laser treatments for vascular and pigment, skin resurfacing, scarring and hair removal. Her formal education includes a Bachelor of Science (Medical Science) and a Bachelor of Nursing from La Trobe University.
Our Support Team
With a career spanning over 30 years in health industry administration, Merryn understands the complexities of running a busy specialist medical practice and the importance of compassionate care. She encourages her team to contribute to the vision and values of the practice and her leadership, management and motivational style have built a wonderful working team.
Ellie is a most mature, efficient and compassionate receptionist, dedicated to providing a positive and hassle-free experience for our patients. She comes to Hope Dermatology with experience from a variety of health care practices and running a full time child care centre with some 400 children at any given time. With a keen interest in dermatology, she supports our clients’ individual needs with patience and understanding.
Part time receptionist
Lucy has been at Hope Dermatology now for 12 months and combines her part time role with us while she completes her bachelors degree in Nutrition Science. Lucy comes to us with a vast experience of customer service and is a most valued, dedicated, member of the reception team.
Erinna loves her position as our part time medical typist as it allows her to pursue her passions for travel and photography as well. She speeds through all correspondence for our referring GPs and when she is back in Melbourne, she loves nothing more than spending time in the clinic and has an exceptional rapport with staff and patients with her bright and happy disposition.
