Dr. Hope Dinh
Dr. Dinh is a highly regarded dermatologist with more than 10 years of experience in treating a wide range of dermatology conditions. After graduating from Monash University in Melbourne, she gained clinical experience in specialist dermatology; training both locally in Melbourne and internationally in Singapore. She has a keen interest in hair and nail conditions, paediatric dermatology, women’s dermatological conditions, surgical dermatology and the advancing field of cosmetic dermatology including cosmeceuticals, injectables and laser.
She holds public Hospital appointments at The Alfred Hospital (Dermatology clinic) and also the Skin & Cancer Foundation Inc (Nail clinic)
She speaks fluent English and Vietnamese.
Dr. Sarah Hannam
Dr Hannam moved to Victoria after she graduated from The University of Adelaide in South Australia. She spent a year of Dermatology training at the University College Hospital in the United Kingdom and since moving to Victoria, she has been affiliated with The Royal Childrens Hospital, The Skin and Cancer Foundation in Carlton, The Austin Hospital, The Alfred Hospital and St Vincents Hospital.
She has extensive experience treating all skin conditions and has a special interest in both medical and surgical dermatology including diagnosis of skin cancer & melanoma and the treatment of such. Her other areas of special interest are acne, psoariasis and scar and pigmentation management.
Dr Hannam's philosophy is to provide a personalised, caring experience for her patients as well as maintaining a professional approach and one that is based on individual needs.
Dr. Sarah Shen
MBBS, BMedSci, M.Phil, FACD
Dr. Shen is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD).
Graduating from the University of Melbourne Medical School in 2008, Dr. Shen further completed a Medical Science degree in the research of surgical anatomy. She gained general medical and surgical experience at St Vincent’s Hospital and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre prior to embarking on dermatology research at the Victorian Melanoma Service at the Alfred Hospital, completing a Master of Philosophy in the research of high-risk melanomas, publishing work in both domestic and international dermatology journals.
Sarah undertook her dermatology training in Victoria including at St Vincent’s Hospital, the Austin hospital, Royal Melbourne Hospital, Monash Medical Centre, The Alfred Hospital, the Skin and Cancer Foundation of Victoria as well as the National Skin Centre in Singapore.
Dr. Shen is a general dermatologist with a wide range of interests including eczema, psoriasis, acne, inflammatory skin conditions and skin cancer and melanoma diagnosis and management. Sarah is committed to providing excellent care for all patients and welcomes new referrals. She currently holds a public appointment at The Alfred Hospital Dermatology Unit. She is fluent in conversational Mandarin.
Dr. Aaron Robinson
BBiotech (Hons), MBBS, PhD, FACD
Dr. Robinson is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and a graduate of the University of Melbourne. He undertook his Dermatology training through multiple Victorian and International institutes, including the National Skin Centre in Singapore.
Prior to his training as a Dermatologist, he previously completed a PhD at the University of Adelaide and postdoctoral studies through the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute, and was engaged in collaborative clinical research at various institutes throughout his specialist training. He has published and presented his research work nationally and internationally.
Aaron is a general dermatologist with a range of interests in medical and surgical dermatology, including skin cancer surveillance and management, acne, alopecia, hyperhidrosis, and inflammatory skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema and urticaria. He endeavours to combine an evidence-based approach with sensitive and individualised care for all his patients.
Aaron currently also works at the Mercy Hospital for Women and the Skin and Cancer Foundation (Transplant and Skin Cancer assessment clinics). Aaron welcomes new referrals.
Dr. Joy Yee
MBBS (Hons), BMedSci, FACD
Dr Joy Yee is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD) and consultant dermatologist at The Alfred Hospital and The Skin and Cancer Foundation. She received her comprehensive specialist training through the Victorian faculty, working at the majority of Victorian public tertiary hospitals, including The Royal Melbourne Hospital, St. Vincent's Hospital, The Alfred Hospital, Austin Hospital, The Royal Children's Hospital, The Royal Women's Hospital, and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (VCCC).
She graduated with Honours in medical school (M.B.B.S., Hons) from the University of Tasmania, achieving the Dean's role of excellence and membership in the Golden Key International Honour Society. Prior to specialty training, Joy worked at the Royal Melbourne Hospital as a physician trainee and dermatology clinical fellow, running clinical trials in psoriasis.
Joy has wide interests in all adult and pediatric skin conditions, including eczema, psoriasis, urticaria, acne, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), and skin cancers, including surgical treatments. She enjoys working in rural clinics, medical relief work (Cambodia most recently), and teaching at workshops for the wider medical community. She is passionate about providing evidence-based and comprehensive, tailored care to all her patients.
She speaks conversational mandarin and conversational Cantonese.
Our Nursing Staff
Cosmetics Nurse -BSci, RN
Our cosmetics/practice nurse Kristie has more than 20 years experience in the cosmetics industry and has vast experience in laser treatments for vascular and pigment, skin resurfacing, scarring and hair removal. She graduated from La Trobe University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science (Medical Science) and has recently completed her Bachelor of Nursing, also at La Trobe. In 2016, she completed the highly competitive Graduate year of nursing at the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) where she worked rotations in both Cardiology and Neurosurgery and continues to divide her time between RMH and with us here at Hope Dermatology.
Kristie’s passion is treating vascular lesions and benign pigmented lesions and she is thrilled to work closely with our expert team of dermatologists to offer our patients the very best, gold standard treatments with the Cutera Excel V laser. Skin care consults and injectables are also performed by Kristie and also by our highly skilled dermatologists.
Procedural Nurse - Dip. Nursing
Kirstin comes with years of experience in the healthcare industry, spending 11 years in dental and hospital settings. Having a keen interest in dermatology, she then went on to complete her Diploma of Nursing. Kirstin enjoys assisting with procedures, pre and post-op care and is always here to answer any questions you may have.
Dermal Clinician - BSc DT, Dip BT
Hanna is a Bachelor qualified Dermal Clinician, with more than 12 years experience in the beauty and dermal professions, completing her studies in Dermal Science at Victoria University. She loves all things skin, including the treatment of acne and rosacea, especially working alongside the doctors to achieve best results. Her experience covers all skin treatments including chemical peels, ablative and non-ablative treatments including treating pigmentation, leg and face vascularity, laser genesis and general rejuvenation. Her main goal is to achieve the best possible skin for her clients factoring in their whole well-being.
Hanna is highly motivated and compassionate and is well liked by her peers and clients, as she has the ability to provide comfort to people and perform duties with the highest care and precision.
With a career spanning over 30 years in Administration within the health industry, Merryn comes to Hope Dermatology with a sound background of practice management and understands the complexities of running a busy specialist medical practice. She also strives to create a balance between being professional and showing compassion!
Merryn has had significant input in to the development and success of this practice. She states “if the doctors can walk in and work in a well-run practice and know they don’t have to worry about issues such as Medicare claims, equipment working or IT problems, then I know I have done my job”.
You will see Merryn from time to time at reception as she loves the front-of-house interaction with our patients/clients but her role is primarily doing the behind-the-scenes running of the practice. She encourages and allows all our staff to have an input in to the vision and values of the practice and her goal is to be able to lead, manage and motivate her staff which results in a having a wonderful working team.
Melissa is one of our receptionists and surgical assistant. Melissa comes to Hope Dermatology with experience in a variety of industries and success in providing exceptional customer service. Her most recent appointment prior to starting at Hope Dermatology was in administration for one of Melbourne’s largest public hospitals. Melissa helps keep the office running smoothly with her reception, clerical, and billing duties as well as assisting the doctors with medical procedures. Speaking fluent French and Italian, she is also able to help patients in these languages for their medical consultations.
Cassandra is one of our amazing receptionists and comes to Hope Dermatology with experience from a variety of health care practices.
Having previously studied Health Science, she has a keen interest in dermatology and is looking forward to helping with any questions you may have.
